Katie Isbester has a PhD and taught at University of Toronto for 7 years before quitting. Along the way she got a couple of her own books published by university presses and had a few babies.
After editing for 20 years, both freelance and for the Big 5, Katie Isbester set up her own publishing company-Claret Press. An egghead by nature, she couldn’t become a ruthless entrepreneur and instead decided to do something different, break the rules, and publish books that combined issues with great page-turning reads and promote dialogue on issues that we are all dealing with.
