This is an expression of the joy I discovered after years of holding back my sorrow and grief because it seemed to represent weakness, but in reality there is nothing stronger and more liberating than a good healing cry. Composition ##05-Set.2021 A set of two paintings, each is 10×10 inch acrylic on canvas, sold as a set.
The first is called ‘Fiery Healing‘. The second is ‘Flames of Transformation‘. This set was inspired by the fire of a good healing cry; so many of us know the heat of a therapeutic letting go. Hot fiery tears that burn the pain and anger away. It flows until we’ve spent all the bitterness inside us; and all that pain and rage.
As you may know, if you’ve read my Memoir, PERMISSION TO BREATHE, I am all too familiar with the cycles of life’s ups and downs and the incredible journey of transformation and healing; I imagine you are too! This set expresses a very human emotion.
The first composition focuses on the eyes, while the second holds an image of a bird’s eye; the view of transformation rising from the flames. This is what I saw when I started painting this image. Once again- a total revelation for me.
